is a captivating and engaging video installation, created in collaboration with the drag queen Holyadeux. Based on Sarah Kane’s theatrical work, “4.48 Psychosis” (1999), this multidimensional piece explores the struggles and issues experienced by queer individuals. At the core of the installation is Holyadeux, captured on screen as she rehearses and reinterprets Sarah Kane’s powerful words. The looping videos offer moments of vulnerability and intensity where Holyadeux immerses herself in her performance and merges with the tormented character. These moments, where the “I” intertwines with the staging, plunge us into the depths of alienation and question the boundary between reality and performance. The multiple screens amplify this haunting exploration, enchanted by the performance, and create an immersive atmosphere where boundaries blur, and the viewer finds themselves enveloped in visual and auditory echoes. The fusion of repetition and performativity of language highlights the tensions and contradictions of identity, revealing the complex layers of our social and intimate reality.
In this immersive space, “no hope no hope no hope no hope no hope no hope no hope” invites viewers to challenge normative constructions, to question the limits of the “I,” and to confront the mechanisms of alienation that permeate our lives, where boundaries fade and a profound truth emerges beyond the limits of identity.
